Here we go again—with passion, experience, and a clear goal
Our fourth team is kicking off a season that’s going to be a real challenge. Last season, they were able to celebrate a respectable sixth-place finish, landing them safely in the middle of the standings—a result they could be proud of.
But the new district league has changed noticeably. The field of teams has grown and is now much more competitive: where ten teams used to battle for points, there are now twelve—and many of them are strong contenders. Teams like TSV Tauberbischofsheim II, FC Hundheim-Steinbach, ETSV Lauda II, and the numerous teams from Külsheim promise to be tough opponents week after week. This league doesn’t forgive any lapses—here, you have to fight for every single point.
The squad heads into the season with a healthy mix of youthful energy and the wisdom that comes with experience. The team is led by Marco Hahner, who sets the tone at the top of the lineup, closely followed by the squad’s greatest talent: the young Tom Breunig, who has a bright future ahead of him and continues to improve with every game. Behind them, the experienced Bastian Kohl, Udo Künzig, and Udo Anderlik provide stability, a clear overview, and the composure that is so desperately needed in close matches. What this team may lack in raw league points compared to some opponents, it makes up for with team spirit and unbridled determination.
A special highlight promises to be the matchup against the club’s own third team, which is also competing in the Kreisliga this season. The club derby is sure to give fans goosebumps. Here, friendship meets ambition, and in the end, every point counts double.
The goal has been set with a realistic outlook: avoiding relegation. In such a strong league, staying up won’t happen on its own—it will take hard work throughout the entire season. But with a fighting spirit—refusing to go down without a fight in any match—the fourth team is determined to reach that goal. Giving up is not an option, especially not in Niklashausen.
