Description

The Future Is Here—Hungry for More

There’s no place where the heart of the Niklashausen Table Tennis School beats louder than here: with the Youth 15 team. Because when the balls bounce through the Pfeiferhalle on Tuesdays, you can watch the future of our club take shape. And that future already impressively demonstrated last season where the journey is headed.

The young team finished the last round in a strong second place. For a team in which some players are only nine or ten years old, this is a remarkable achievement that leaves us wanting more.

The squad is led by its two star players, Eva-Marie Keller and Lorena Harter, who have long been making a splash in the women’s division as well and serve as role models for the younger players. Behind them, a whole wave of talent is pushing forward: Wojtek Malcherek, Jan Kohl, Darius Liesberg, the brothers Elias and Lukas Simmerling, and the youngest member of the group, Anton Michel (born in 2016), who already steps up to the table with wide-eyed wonder and even greater ambition. Under the proven guidance of coach Krzysztof Malcherek, the team hones the fundamentals week after week—the very skills that make Niklashaus’s young athletes so special.

Following a strong season last year, the Youth 15 team is heading into the season with confidence but without overconfidence.

In the end, however, it’s not just the standings that matter for these youngsters. What’s growing here is far more than a good spot in the standings: it’s the joy of the game, the team spirit, and the passion that have so often led to great things in Niklashausen. Anyone who watches these kids play today can sense which names will represent the club tomorrow. The future has begun—and it’s a lot of fun.
